Why is live, instructor-led training a good choice for me?

Our small class-size, (limited to 7 and 18 respectively, in our two classrooms), and the personalized training provided - along with personal follow-up support, make our live, instructor-led training an extremely effective option for students who need to learn quickly and affordably and want to enjoy the process of gaining skills and confidence. Our instructors are experts with decades of training experience, providing a friendly, comfortable environment. In addition, if it is more convenient, we can come to your office or provide a hands-on virtual classroom option. (A great option for remote offices so that everyone in the company is working from a consistent level of training).

How do I find out when classes are offered?

Check our Classes page, and if you see a topic you'd like to take, click the name of the class—you're taken to a page offering a full description of the course and the current dates and times at which it's offered. You can also click our Schedule link for a printable, 1-page document listing all public classes and the dates and times they're scheduled to run. Always feel free to call and ask, too—our office number is 717.400.1700.

How do I enroll in a class?

There's an enroll link at the foot of each class description page. So, for example, if you want to take Excel Foundation, you'd click that topic on our classes list, and then click the enroll link at the foot of the resulting page. You can also call 717-400-1700 anytime from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday to speak immediately to our staff, or use our info@thedigitalworkshop.com email address, 24/7, 365. You'll hear back from our staff no later than the next business day!

Do you offer discounts?

We offer discounts for multiple enrollments, for veterans and active duty military personnel and for non-profits (for 3.5 hour classes or longer). We also run periodic specials which you may receive by email if you're in our database. Call our office at 717-400-1700 for more information.

Can I get follow-up support after the class?

Absolutely. Your instructor will give you the support email address during your class, and you can use that to ask any questions you'd like pertaining to the class you took for the following three months. Questions are normally answered within the same business day, but we make every effort to have your answer within 24 hours, Monday through Friday.

Does each student have a computer to use during class?

Yes. All classes are hands-on and each student is seated at their own computer. Our classrooms include a teacher station that connects to a large display at the front of the classroom so that students can follow the instructor's actions as they work along at their own student computer. Students may also bring their own laptops to class if they prefer to use that in addition to, or instead of, the classroom computers.

What about cancellations? Do I get a refund if the class doesn't run?

We value your time so we give you as much notice as possible if there is some reason a class can't be held. Our schedule is, however, subject to change—so if you haven't yet enrolled in a class, check the Schedule page to see the latest dates and times for each topic. If we must cancel classes due to weather or other emergencies, we'll contact all students immediately and help you to reschedule at your convenience.

What if I can't attend a class I've enrolled in?

Please call us no later than three business days prior to the date and time of the class to let us know you'll be unable to attend. You can reschedule at that time for the next date the class is scheduled to run, provided that date is not already full. Our staff will assist you in the rescheduling process, so just call 717-400-1700. Last-minute cancellations by the student will be handled on a case-by-case basis in terms of any fee to enroll in the same class the next time it's offered.

Is payment required prior to class?

Yes, we require that students pay for their class before the day of class. Call our offices to make your payment by check or credit card at 717-400-1700.

What sort of course materials are included with my class?

It varies by the topic as different types of software are best supported by different types of materials. For example, all Microsoft Office classes include a useful after-class reference. Other classes may include a reference handout that provides step-by-step instructions for core procedures and keyboard shortcuts. All classes include email follow-up support for 90 days.

Will I receive any kind of certificate or completion letter with my class?

Absolutely. Every student receives a printed certificate with the name of the student, the name of the class taken, and the date of the training. The certificate is signed by our CEO and our Training Director. For students requiring a grade in order to receive training fee reimbursement from their employer, we can provide that upon request.

Do you offer any kind of skills-assessment tools for students to use in choosing which level of training they need?

We offer a self assessment link for Excel which helps to determine which class is most appropriate for your skill level. We also design customized assessment tools for organizations looking to analyze their staff's current skills and to assess them again post-training. Is it possible to set up one-on-one training with your instructors, at your facility?

Certainly. Just call our office to discuss the topic, dates, and times that work for you. Our staff will also arrange for one of our instructors to contact you to discuss exactly what you want to learn and we can design a customized training session or sessions to meet your needs.

Can I bring a group of students from our organization to your training center for a customized class?

Of course. Our classroom can accomodate up to 7 students, or 15 if you're bringing your own laptops. We're happy to make the rooms available to groups for any topic on our schedule. Call our office at 717-400-1700 or drop us a line at info@thedigitalworkshop.com to talk about all the options.

Does your facility meet ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements?

Yes. Our building has a handicapped-accessible entrance and bathroom facilities, and all parts of our training center are accessible to persons using wheelchairs.

Do you have free parking?

Yes. Our building is surrounded by safe, free parking.

Do you have free WIFI at The Digital Workshop?

Yes. Just ask your teacher for the password and you can get online with your smartphone, tablet, or laptop while you're with us.

Do you provide refreshments?

We have fresh, hot coffee and a variety of hot teas and light snacks. (fruit, granola bars, candy). Students may also bring their own beverages and snacks to enjoy on the break. Students can bring beverages and snacks into the classroom, too.
